Information
The aim of the project is to clarify the enigmatic energy-coupling mechanism performed by respiratory Complex I, pivotal to cell energy metabolism. The postdoctoral fellow will measure transmembrane proton pumping by complex I subunits and the homologous mrp antiporter proteins under various conditions. To this end, spectroscopic equipment developed specifically for these studies, unique nanoprobes and genetic constructs are available. The postdoctoral fellow will work in a cross-disciplinary environment, with a project that spans molecular-biological methods and spectroscopy, and addresses a key biochemical/biophysical problem.
