Linguistics does not exclusively deal with individual languages, but also with the system of signs called language in and of itself. In addition, the faculty of speech and the use of language are considered on every organizational level (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, text; socio-, psycho-, and pragmalinguistics; the acquisition and loss of language etc.). |
