The subject of Archaeology (Classical and Provincial Roman Archaeology) considers itself to be the science of the material heritage of ancient cultures of the Mediterranean including the cultures influenced by them. The focus of the research and teaching are the monuments of Greek and Roman culture as well as the provincial Roman culture.
