Information
In the laboratory of Organic synthesis, several abundant natural products including terpenoids and flavanoids with known biological activities are being modified with the aim of improving the biological properties. The student will be asked to prepare such a library of derivatives of such analogies. The biological activities are screened in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy or other groups at KU Leuven. Techniques learned: organic synthesis and characterisation (NMR, MS, IR, UV, etc..). HPLC separations, advanced NMR characterisation techniques.
